The Department of Commerce in association with the Financial Literacy Club organized a Trading and Demat Account Opening Campaign at Cochin Arts and Science College on 12 March 2026 in the seminar hall. The session was conducted by Jishnu V, a Financial Educator and Stock Market Trader from JB International Academy.

The program aimed to create awareness among students about stock market trading, investment strategies, and the importance of opening a Demat account. During the session, the resource person explained the basics of trading, how the stock market works, and the benefits of investing in shares. Students also received guidance on the process of opening a Demat and trading account.

 

The campaign helped students improve their financial literacy and understanding of investment opportunities, encouraging them to make informed financial decisions in the future.
