Cochin Arts and Science College organized a week-long Onam Celebration, organized by the Department of Biosciences, with games divided among various departments, starting on August 24th and concluding on August 21st.
On the 24th, the Departments of Biosciences and Business Administration held simultaneous events, including musical chairs with a twist and face painting competitions. The musical chair with a twist involved tasks and chairs, with winners T.M. Abin and Aldrin receiving Rs 250 and 150 respectively. The face painting competition was themed Onam, with Parvathy and Khadeeja Nazrin winning Rs 250.
The department of Oonakodi organized a unique event where participants dressed as opposite genders in traditional ways. George Tenju and Sadiya S won, each receiving Rs 200.
The BCom department held arm wrestling events, with Muhammad Jalaludeen winning the boys’ arm wrestling and Betty Simon winning the girls’ arm wrestling, each receiving Rs 200. The day began with a Melam by the Blue Army team and Mahabali’s welcome to the college, followed by cultural programs like Nadanpattu, Thiruvathira, uriyadi, tug of war, Malayali manka, maran, and sundariku pottu thodal.The event of Uriyadi was orchestrated by the Department of Computer Application. The winners of the event were Amala of S1 Microbiology and Mujeeb of the BBA department.
